We are a family run farm situated in the Southern Sperrins just outside Castlederg, Co. Tyrone, and have been milking cows for over 100 years though it wasn't until 2003 that we upgraded to pedigree status. Since then many new Cow Families have been added some which you will find on this site.
At present we are milking 140 cows through a 18/18 herringbone parlour, with numbers steadily increasing we hope to have upwards on 200 milking within the next couple of years. All cows are fed on a grass based diet, grazing in the summer and grass silage in the winter.
At Ardbarron we aim to breed a cow that has a natural willingness to milk with good components and good type. Current sires in use are Bolton, Shottle, Dictator, Bonair and Dynamo and current stock bull is Ballycairn OK Troy (Okendo x Ballycairn Boudewijn Tinnie)
